YVONNE FORCE VILLAREAL

FOUNDER & LEAD CURATOR

Yvonne Force Villareal began her public career in the arts in 1995 as the President of Yvonne Force Inc. (YFI), an art advisory firm. Supported in part by Laurance S. Rockefeller, she built a collection championing contemporary artists.

In 2000, Ms. Force co-founded Art Production Fund (APF), a non-profit organization dedicated to commissioning and producing significant public art projects. The leaders (co-founder Doreen Remen) grew APF into an ambitious national program of outdoor installations that include: Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains in Las Vegas, NV; Elmgreen & Dragset’s Prada Marfa in Marfa, Texas.

Expanding on her role as cultural entrepreneur, in 2014, she co-founded Culture Corps, an art consultancy specializing in creating dynamic art programs for developers, building private collections, curating artworks for hospitality, television/film sets, and beyond.

Ms. Force, a Rhode Island School of Design graduate, serves on the Board of Art Production Fund, White Columns and RISD’s President’s Alumni Advisory Council. She has spoken at many institutions and media outlets including Frieze Art Fair, Design Miami, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Yale University, MIT, The Today Show, and Bravo’s Work of Art, among others. In 2014, she was awarded the Lennon Ono Grant for Peace for her service in public art.

DOREEN REMEN

FOUNDER & LEAD CURATOR

Doreen Remen began her career in architecture before translating her love of public structures and cityscapes to the field of public art. In 2000, Ms. Remen, alongside Yvonne Force Villareal, co-founded Art Production Fund (APF), a non-profit organization with the mission to realize large-scale projects and engage new audiences. Together they grew APF into a mainstay of the art world, producing projects such as Ugo Rondinone’s Seven Magic Mountains and Elmgreen & Dragset’s Prada Marfa. Through APF, Ms. Remen and Ms. Force have created a distinctive narrative of American public art.

Ms. Remen and Ms. Force started Culture Corps in 2014 to address a growing awareness of and demand for significant, high quality art among a corporate clientele. Culture Corps nurtures this new frontier in hospitality, retail, entertainment, and real estate, with thoughtful custom programs for highly-visible properties and corporations. Ms. Remen and Ms. Force also work with select private clients to build their personal collections.

Ms. Remen holds degrees from the Rhode Island School of Design and Columbia University. She serves on the Board of Directors of Art Production Fund.
