Working closely with the collector and his designer Ford Huniford, Yvonne Force Villareal of Culture Corps secured artists spanning generations for this laid back family retreat. The catalyst of the collection is Henri Matisse’s complete set of 20 “Jazz” series prints from 1947 installed throughout the living room. This iconic edition spoke to the client's sense of childlike wonder and appreciation for the simplicity of taking scissors to paper to create art from cutouts. Works by Kara Walker, Pat Steir, Marina Adams continue the dialogue of bold forms, colorblocks and a playful use of materials. Other acclaimed artists include Cecily Brown, Genieve Figgis, Tracey Emin, Lisa Yuskavage and Ellsworth Kelly.
