WATERWAY GARAGE MURAL

With the Howard Hughes Corporation, Culture Corps sourced mural artwork by internationally renowned artist Alex Katz for a new outdoor community gathering space in Waterway Square, Houston, Texas. Designed as an amenity for residents, employees and visitors, the square serves as a vantage point from which to enjoy outdoor concerts and social gatherings in a walkable setting. At 30,000 square feet, the piece is one of the largest art murals in the Greater Houston area.

“This significant piece of artwork will activate and redefine the new outdoor gathering space in Waterway Square in The Woodlands, and we are honored to commission Alex Katz for this mural,” said Jay Cross, President of The Howard Hughes Corporation. “Complementing the neighboring sculptures, mosaics and the Fountains at Waterway Square, the mural will transform Waterway Square into a popular and premier gathering space that is punctuated by diverse and dynamic artwork.”
