Intertwining cutting-edge technology with the natural environment, The Wishing Tree by Symmetry Labs is a hyper-realistic Banyan tree sculpture. Incorporating algorithms inspired by nature and physical phenomena, digitally programmed LED lights illuminate a canopy of leaves. Surrounded by a moat of water, the sculpture emulates a realistic majestic tree by day and transforms into a luminous undulating form by night. Sacred in many cultures, the Banyan tree is native to the southern region of Florida — the only state in the U.S. where the Banyan tree grows. The Wishing Tree draws this energy to the Plaza of The Square, creating a space that allows viewers to be mesmerized by the wonders around them.
