JEPPE HEIN
WATER PAVILION: WEST PALM

Questioning the ritualistic relationship between art and the spectator, Jeppe Hein creates witty and minimalist installations that intervene with both indoor and outdoor spaces. In the artist’s first permanent installation in Florida, Jeppe Hein brings the lyrical and engaging “Water Pavilion: West Palm” to West Palm Beach. Mirroring the rounded circumference of The Square, two interlocking circles of jets shoot up at staggered intervals. Both children and adults alike will be invited to interact with the playfully ephemeral piece which Hein refers to as a “social sculpture”, allowing viewers to walk in and out of “rooms” created by the vertical columns of water. “Water Pavilion: West Palm” speaks to both the Floridian locale, and to the socially active environment of the Square.
