Chrissy Hughes brings years of art world experience in both the public and private sectors to her role as Associate Director of Cultural Programming. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History from the University of California, Davis with a concentration on ceramic and painting studio practice, along with post-modern art history.
Chrissy also holds a Master of Arts in Art, Space, and Nature, an environmental public art program, from the University of Edinburgh, in Scotland. Her thesis concentrated on visualizing astronomical data as a means of environmental action. Previously she has managed a contemporary art gallery in San Francisco and was a lead project manager for an interior design firm. Chrissy also has worked for multiple arts non-profits including a community arts organization mapping public art in Barcelona, Spain, as well as a printmaking organization in New York City. She has a deep love of public art, which fuels her daily.
