ART ON THE PLAZA
Working with Related Companies, Culture Corps curated Art On The Plaza, a four-day-long art activation at their new multi-use development located at 10 Hudson Yards in New York City. The activation included two interactive installations: Playground, a mural by Jon Burgerman and Wish Tree for Hudson Yards by Yoko Ono.
Jon Burgerman invited passersby to color in a portion of his mural, collectively completing the piece by the end of the activation. People of all ages particapated in the fun. Burgerman also led a Doodle Class on the second day, sharing his doodle skills with the public.
Yoko Ono’s Wish Tree encouraged participants to write their wishes on tags and hang them from the tree’s branches. At the end of the activation, the wishes were sent to Iceland to be buried, along with wishes from around the world, at the base of Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower on Viðey Island, Iceland. The tree itself will be permanently planted at Hudson Yards.
